A mezzora da Edimburgo, North Berwick è un villaggio costiero con due ampie spiagge, la East Bay e la West Bay, dove il ritmo sembra essere rallentalo e si respira un’atmosfera marinara, in epoca Vittoriana fu una stazione balneare molto in voga.
Si trova nella zona dell’East Lothian, affacciata sul Firth of Forth, l’ampio estuario sul Mare del Nord del fiume Forth.
Ancora oggi frequentata per i suoi campi da golf e per la bellissima visuale del Bass Rock, uno scoglio vulcanico che emerge dal mare, zona protetta per la presenza di colonie di uccelli marini, a cui si deve il colore bianco grigiastro dell’isola.

Half an hour from Edinburgh, North Berwick is a coastal village with two large beaches, East Bay and West Bay, where the pace seems to be slow and there is a seafaring atmosphere, in Victorian times it was a very popular seaside resort.
