Questo segmento di popolazione è stato individuato da Dan Woodman, professore presso l’University of Melbourne, in Australia. “Queste persone hanno vissuto una esperienza unica – ha spiegato lo studioso, illustrando come gli Xennials si siano adattati in fretta al mondo che cambiava -. Da bambino e da adolescente non hanno vissuto tutti i problemi creati dagli abusi sui social media -. Hanno organizzato incontri con gli amici solo con telefonate da telefoni fissi: si decideva un appuntamento e ci si presentava a quell’ora”.
E' stato introdotto un nuovo termine per definire in modo più specifico una porzione dei millennial nata proprio al confine con la generazione X, ossia quelli venuti al mondo tra il 1977 e il 1983, che si distinguerebbe in diversi aspetti dai millennial veri e propri.
Si chiamano Xennials (già dal nome un mix tra le due generazioni), e hanno passato buona parte della loro infanzia senza computer, si ricordano di quando non c’era internet e solo nella tarda adolescenza o oltre hanno cominciato a usare strumenti come Google e i cellulari.

A new term has been inserted to define in a more specific way a portion of the millennial born right on the border with the X generation, that is those that came into the world between 1977 and 1983, which stands out in different aspects from the real millennials.
They are called Xennials (from the name a mix between the two generations), and they spent a good part of their childhood without a computer, they remember when there was no internet and only in late adolescence or beyond they used to use tools like Google and Mobile phones.
